With the enactment of the federal Youth Protection Act ( Jugendschutzgesetz ) and the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media ( Jugendmedienschutzstaatsver... JMStV ) of the states ( Bundesländer ), a new regulatory framework for the protection of minors became effective in 2003.
Especially the JMStV brought new forms of regulation, which had not yet been tested in practice and which draw on the concept of " Regulated Self-Regulation " (Regulierte Selbstregulierung) ."

Als Folge ihrer Anerkennung gelten solche Normen nicht mehr nur für die Mitglieder der entsprechenden Selbstregulierungsorganisat... sondern sind fortan auch von den übrigen Branchenzugehörigen als Mindeststandards zu beachten.
