Bereits 1965 traten neben Joseph Beuys sechs weitere Künstler, ein Fotograf und ein Galerist in Wuppertal von 0 bis 24 Uhr zum 24 Stunden Happening an.
Es ging damals noch nicht um eine spezielle Stadt, um Tages- oder Nachtzeiten, sondern vielmehr um die Dehnbarkeit des damals immer noch hehren Kunstbegriffes.
Ein Happening, das 24 Stunden dauert, aus dieser Tradition entstammt der Bildband.
