Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im Euroraum wurde im Jahr 2012 insbesondere durch Konsolidierungsmaßnahmen, den Schuldenabbau im privaten Sektor und die Unsicherheit über den weiteren Umgang mit der europäischen Staatsschuldenkrise beeinflusst.
Die Unsicherheit über das weitere Vorgehen der Wirtschafts- und Finanzpolitik im Hinblick auf die europäische Staatsschuldenkrise führte zu einer rückläufigen Entwicklung der Unternehmensinvestitionen und hatte damit eine belastende Wirkung auf die Wirtschaft im Euroraum.
