According to the introduction of the German ‘Bundesfreiwilligendienst’ people older than 27 years now have the opportunity to participate in the voluntary social year at Bethel –the Betheljahr.

In der zweiten Projektphase (2011-2013) wurde die Einführung des Bundesfreiwilligendienstes (BFD) analysiert und evaluiert:
www.hertie-school.orgFurthermore there are workshops of at least 15 days, which are offered with different durations ( 1 day / several days / weeks ).
Usually the Betheljahr 27+ takes 12 months, but it can already be recognised as German Bundesfreiwilligendienst and sometimes can be extended up to 18 months.
Generally it is a full-time position with 3 hours per week, In particular cases this can be reduced to a minimum of 19.5 hours per week.
www.betheljahr.deZudem gibt es Seminare im Umfang von mindestens 15 Tagen, die als Tages-, Mehrtages- oder Wochenseminare angeboten werden.
Das Betheljahr 27+ dauert in der Regel 12 Monate, wird aber auch schon nach 6 Monaten als Bundesfreiwilligendienst anerkannt und kann im Einzelfall auch bis auf 18 Monate verlängert werden.
Das Betheljahr 27+ wird in der Regel als Vollzeitstelle (39 Stunden pro Woche) angeboten, in Einzelfällen sind aber auch schon Einsätze mit einer wöchentlichen Arbeitszeit von mindestens 19,5 Stunden möglich.
