It was thanks to Fürstin Tatiana and her husband, Paul Alfons Fürst von Metternich, that the impressive palace and grounds were restored to their former glory by 1965.
The grande dame, who, above all, was actively engaged in the promotion of culture in the Rheingau and many other causes, lived at Schloss Johannis-berg until her death in July 2006.

Im Zweiten Weltkrieg von Fliegerbomben getroffen und ausgebrannt, ist es Fürstin Tatiana und ihrem Mann Paul Alfons Fürst von Metternich zu verdanken, dass die beeindruckende Schlossanlage heute wieder in neuem Glanz erstrahlt.
Die große alte Dame, die sich vor allem im kulturellen Bereich im Rheingau und weit darüber hinaus verdient gemacht hat, lebte bis zu ihrem Tod im Juli 2006 auf Schloss Johannisberg.
