Early childhood education apprenticeship
The training to become an early childhood educator at a daycare centre is offered within the framework of an apprenticeship in early childhood education („FaBe“ – Berufslehre zur Fachperson Betreuung) and leads to a nationally recognised diploma.
In the canton of Zürich this entails attending classes for one and a half days a week at the training centre Berufsfachschule Winterthur (BFS) over a 3 year period and on the remaining weekdays working at a daycare centre under the supervision of a qualified trainer.

Die Ausbildung zur Kleinkinderzieherin in einer Kindertagesstätte wird im Rahmen der Berufslehre zur Fachperson Betreuung (FaBe) angeboten und führt zum eidgenössischen Fähigkeitsausweis.
Das heisst im Kanton Zürich, dass während den drei Lehrjahren eineinhalb Tage pro Woche die Berufsfachschule Winterthur (BFS) besucht und die anderen Tage in der Kita unter Anleitung einer qualifizierten Ausbildnerin gearbeitet wird.
