The public war memorial is to be found at the south-tower of the lutheran church of St.Johannis - no names are listed, probably because of the large number of deaths - only the following inscription can be seen : MCMXIV - MCMVIII IHREN GEFALLENEN SOEHNEN DIE DANKBARE VATERSTADT ( MCMXIV - MCMVIII - To their sons, who died in action - the grateful hometown ).
In 1923, the commemorative book "1914/1918 Anbachs Gefallenen zum Gedächtnis" (1914/1918 - In memory of the fallen sodiers of Ansbach) was compiled, with the information given by the families.In it the following Jewish soldiers are mentioned:
