In written speech we generally prefer to use the subjunctive.
If we use the indicative (Indikativ), one can assume that we believe and/or agree with the original speaker.
Example:
deutsch.lingolia.comIn der geschriebenen Sprache bevorzugen wir normalerweise den Konjunktiv.
Verwenden wir Indikativ, könnte man daraus schließen, dass wir dem Original-Sprecher glauben bzw. zustimmen.
