He told in his speech of the close association of the city of Ulm to the lands of the Danube region, which exists until today since the time of the emigration on board of “ Ulmer Schachteln ” and which would be constantly more intense since the removal of the “ Iron Curtain. ”
By the establishment of the Danube Swabian Central Museum in the vicinity continually more visitors come to the city, who are interested in the history of the Danube Swabians.

Er erzählte in seiner Rede von der engen Verbindung der Stadt Ulm zu den Ländern des Donauraumes, die seit der Zeit der Auswanderung auf “ Ulmer Schachteln “ bis heute besteht und die seit dem Wegfall des “ Eisernen Vorhangs “ immer intensiver geworden ist.
Durch die Errichtung des Donauschwäbischen Zentralmuseums in der Nähe des Donauschwabenufers vor 10 Jahren kämen immer mehr Besucher in die Stadt, die sich für die Geschichte der Donauschwaben interessierten.
