The Hans Litten Prize is named after one of the best-known labour movement lawyers of the Weimar Re-public in Germany.
Hans Litten was taken into “ Schutzhaft ” ( protective custody ) in 1933 and after years of torture and agony in concentration camps, among others Esterwegen and Buchenwald, was driven by the Nazis to commit suicide at Dachau in 1938.
