Moscow State University MSU, also known as Lomonosov University, is the largest University in Russia with the longest tradition.
It was founded in 1755 on the initiative of Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov (1711-1765), the first member of the Russian Academy.
Today it includes over 27 faculties, 15 research institutes, more than 350 departments and a broad range of other facilities, such as 49 museums, a botanical garden, a university press with an associated print shop and a boarding school, accommodating about 300 gifted children from all over Russia.
