Claus Bury was born in Meerholz / Gelnhausen in 1946.
From 1965 to 1969 he studied at the Kunst- und Werkschule in Pforzheim.
In 1979 he was invited by the Goethe Institute to spend time in Australia.

on1.zkm.deFrom 1963 to 1964 she did a one-year voluntary traineeship at the Schmölz-Huth studio in Cologne.
This was followed by four years at the Kölner Werkschule (Cologne Crafts School) and then by two years of free-lance work.
From 1970 to 1972 Candida Höfer worked at reconstructing the daguerreotype technique for the photographer and collector, Werner Bokelberg.
