The British artist / sculptor Anish Kapoor and the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki developed a temporary concert hall, the Ark Nova, following the devastating earthquake in Japan in 2011.
The mobile concert hall has an inflatable, aubergine-coloured cover made from an elastic material, meaning that it can be set up and dismantled quickly.
Ark Nova’s inflatable membrane structure can easily be loaded onto a lorry so that it can be transported to the relevant venue.
