On the one hand, the artwork for the social centre is a “ social sculpture ” that conveys a social utopian momentum.
On the other hand, the “Bienenstock komprimiert” work cycle is an “asocial sculpture”, which in its demonstration of hierarchy, exploitation and power captures Paul Renner’s homage to the spirit of decadence.
The bar consists of a beehive that has collapsed in upon itself.

BIENENSTOCK KOMPRIMIERT (BEEHIVE COMPRESSED).This is the title that Paul Renner has given to the ensemble he especially created for the Konzett Gallery:it consists of honeycomb paintings and a honey press converted into a bar.
Once again Paul Renner employs the metaphor of the beehive, which he used to great effect in his previous project for the social centre in Egg, Bregenzerwald, Austria.

BIENENSTOCK KOMPRIMIERT nennt Paul Renner sein eigens für die Galerie Konzett konzipiertes Ensemble, bestehend aus Bienenwabenbildern und einer zur Bar umfunktionierten Honigpresse.
Renner setzt dabei die Metapher des Bienenstocks ein, wie auch schon im Vorgängerprojekt im Sozialzentrum in Egg, Bregenzerwald.
