Our group is investigating the molecular mechanisms of the specific pathogen host interaction, and the question how the pathogen modulates different types of host cells to cause disease.
In the focus of our research are the different H. pylori Type 4 Secretion Systems (T4SS) and the vacuolating cytotoxin (VacA) and its mechanism of binding, uptake and immunomodulation on leucocytes, especially T-lymphocytes and dendritic cells.

Im Zentrum unserer Untersuchungen stehen die verschiedenen Typ 4 Sekretions-Systeme (T4SS) und das vakuolisierende Cytotoxin (VacA) sowie dessen Mechanismus der Rezeptorbindung, der Aufnahme und der Immunmodulation bei Leukozyten, speziell T-Lymphozyten und dendritischen Zellen.
