Development of a high performance guard rail system using wood-composite materials
The Department of Organic and Wood-Based Materials of the Insitute for Building Materials, Solid Construction and Fire Protection (iBMB) cooperates with two industrial partners to carry out the project "Development of a high performance guard rail system using wood-composite materials" (Entwicklung von Hochleistungsschutzplanken aus Verbundwerkstoffen auf Basis nachhaltiger Rohstoffe).

Das Fachgebiet Organische Baustoffe und Holzwerkstoffe des iBMB führt in Zusammenarbeit mit zwei industriellen Partnern ein Projekt mit dem Titel „Entwicklung von Hochleistungsschutzplanken aus Verbundwerkstoffen auf Basis nachhaltiger Rohstoffe“ durch.
www.ibmb.tu-braunschweig.de( * ) The study was carried out from 2009 to 2012 as part of a collaborative project between TUM, the Thünen Institute, the University of Bonn, the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle Wittenberg and Bioland Beratung.
The study is financed by Germany ’ s Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and by the Federal Program for Organic Agriculture and Other Forms of Sustainable Agriculture ( Bundesprogramm Ökologischer Landbau und andere Formen nachhaltiger Landwirtschaft ).

The other is located in the region Vorarlberg and will be investigated within the research project "Klimagerechter Nachhaltiger Wohnbau (KliNaWo)".
www.nachhaltigwirtschaften.at, welches vom Projektpartner Neue Heimat Tirol in Innsbruck in zwei Gebäudeteilen realisiert wird.
Ein weiteres Demonstrationsprojekt ist in Vorarlberg im kostengünstigen Wohnbau geplant (Projekt "Klimagerechter Nachhaltiger Wohnbau (KliNaWo)" unter der Leitung des Energieinstituts Vorarlberg).
