In each case he passes his subject matter, from the familiar large scaled details of sunlit flowers to shimmering snowflakes against night skies, through a kind of prism – breaking down his source photographs into three primary colours, which he then uses to reconstruct the image in transparent layers.
In his latest exhibition Other Light, at Galerie Andreas Binder, Munich, the artist is showing works in four distinct media – paintings, prints on paper, video, and Duratrans mounted onlight boxes.
