The term intermodal transport stands for a transport process that includes at least two different transportation modes ( rail, road, inland waterway ).
The current cooperation project especially deals with the optimization of the rail-rail transhipment of loading units ( containers, swap bodies, semi trailers ).
By combining the robot model with a simulation tool ( developed by the BOKU university, see also www.simcont.net ) it will be possible to analyze, evaluate and illustrate different optimization approaches.
www.sparklingscience.atDas Ziel des Projekts RoboConT-Terminal ist die Entwicklung einer computergesteuerten Kran-Roboter-Modellanlage einer intermodalen Container-Terminalanlage. Intermodaler Verkehr bezeichnet in diesem Zusammenhang die Abwicklung eines Transportvorgangs mittels mindestens zweier unterschiedlicher Transportmittel ( Schiene, Straße, Binnenwasserstraße ).
Das vorliegende Kooperationsprojekt beschäftigt sich speziell mit der Optimierung des Bahn-Bahn Umschlags von Ladeeinheiten ( Container, Wechselbehälter, Sattelanhänger ).
Mit Hilfe einer seitens der Universität ( BOKU ) entwickelten Simulationskomponente ( SimConT: siehe auch www.simcont.net ) und der zu entwickelnden Modellanlage sollen Optimierungsansätze analysiert, evaluiert und auch „ real “ nachvollziehbar gemacht werden.
