Many substances can occur in crystals with different internal structures.
Examples are carbon (diamond, graphite) and zinc sulphide (sphalerite, wurtzite).
This phenomenon is called polymorphism, and the individual "forms" (e.g. diamond and graphite) are called polymorphs of the substance.
