E-Mails, die auf ihrem Weg vom Absender zum Empfänger verschlüsselt werden, sind wie versiegelte Briefumschläge und können daher nicht so leicht von Angreifern oder im Rahmen einer Überwachungsaktion von Behörden gelesen werden wie Postkarten.
Einige E-Mails sind jedoch sicherer als andere.

Emails that are encrypted as they’re routed from sender to receiver are like sealed envelopes, and less vulnerable to snooping—whether by bad actors or through government surveillance—than postcards.
But some email is more secure than others.
