Unter der Leitung von Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic an der Engineering School der Columbia University haben Tandon und ihr Team Herzgewebe gezüchtet, das tatsächlich schlägt und auf elektrische Signale reagiert.
Darüber hinaus hält Tandon als TED-Mitglied Vorträge, ist Mitbegründerin der Firma EpiBone, die Knochen für Skelettrekonstruktionen züchtet, unterrichtet Bioelektrizität an der Cooper Union und experimentiert bei Genspace, einem alternativen Labor in Brooklyn, das eine Art Hacker-Treff für Wissenschaftler ist.
Diesen Sommer dürfen wir uns auf ein Projekt freuen, das sie mit den New Yorker Architekten der Firma Ruy Klein, mit form-ula und natürlich mit ein paar Zellen geplant hat.

She also lectures as one of TED Talks’s Senior Fellows, recently co-founded a company called EpiBone that grows living bone for skeletal reconstruction, teaches a bioelectricity course at Cooper Union, and experiments at an alternative Brooklyn lab called Genspace – a sort of hacker space for scientists.
