Die gewaltige Anlage bedeckt eine Fläche von ca. 250.000 m², erstreckt sich über eine Länge von etwa 600 m am Ufer des Bosporus und umfaßt 250 Zimmer und 46 Säle nebst 28 Bädern und 4 Hamams, die äußerst prunkvoll und verschwenderisch mit Marmor, Alabaster und Gold ausgestattet sind.
