Das Swiss SPTC hat für den Finanzplatz Schweiz die Aufgabe übernommen, die fachlichen und juristischen Aspekte einer Angleichung an die EU-Standards abzuklären und Vorschläge zu einer möglichen Umsetzung auszuarbeiten.
In der Gruppe vertreten sind Banken und die Schweizerische Bankiervereinigung, die SwissHoldings als Vertreterin der Industrie- und Dienstleistungskonzerne sowie SIX Swiss Exchange, SIX SIS und SIX Financial Information.
Das Swiss SPTC wurde im November 2006 von den Mitgliedern des Finanzplatzes Schweiz gegründet und wird administrativ von SIX SIS geführt.

The Swiss SPTC was founded in November 2006 by the members of the Swiss financial centre; administrative management is assumed by SIX SIS.
