Die Hühner sind durch die Haltungsbedingungen gestresst und psychisch gestört, neigen zu Federpicken und Kannibalismus und leiden an der Qualzucht, die sie nahezu täglich Eier legen lässt und unter anderem zu schweren, oftmals tödlichen Eileiterentzündungen führt.
Am Ende der Legeperiode ( etwa 12-18 Monate ) sollte man die Anlagen wegen der hohen Staubbelastung ohne Mundschutz nicht mehr betreten, die Hühner atmen schwer, sind zerrupft und ausgelaugt.
