In ihm befindet sich der Eingang zu einem unterirdischen Gang, der zur Zeit des Wiederaufbaus in den bestehenden Felsen gehauen wurde, um daraus Baumaterial zu entnehmen.
In einer Höhle am Anfang des so entstandenen Stollens hängt an der verrußten Decke ein außergewöhnliches Exponat, das sowohl an die Jagdleidenschaft des Erbauers von Kreuzenstein erinnert als auch an seine Polarexpedition anno 1872:Die gigantischen knöchernen Überreste eines Grönlandwals.
Der Stollen wurde ausgebaut und dient als 200m langer Fluchtweg Richtung Donau.

In a cave at the beginning of the resulting tunnel, an extraordinary exhibit is suspended from the ceiling that recalls both the hunting passion of the founder of Kreuzenstein and his polar expedition in 1872: the gigantic skeletal remains of a bowhead whale.
The tunnel has been enlarged and serves as a 200m long escape route towards the Danube.
