Der Künstler trat dort als „Afrikaner“ in einem aus Deutschland importierten Karnevalskostüm auf, dessen visuelleElemente in Dakar lediglich als fremd und albern, in keiner Weise jedoch als essentielle Bestandteile der eigenenKultur verstanden wurden.
Daniel Kojo verbildlicht in einer seiner Werkgruppen bereits seit mehreren Jahren immer wieder die konzeptuelle Figur des „Afronauten“ (Titelbild).

The artist appeared there as an “African” in a carnival costume imported from Germany. The visual elements were seen in Dakar simply as foreign and silly, in no way as essential components of its own culture.
Daniel Kojo makes in one of this work groups, since several years, again and again the conceptual figure of the “Afronaut” (title page).
