Geboren 1981 in Rüsselsheim, erhielt Hardy Rittner seinen ersten Klavierunterricht mit 4 Jahren und begann sein Klavier- und Hammerklavierstudium 1998 an der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in den Klassen von Karl-Heinz Kämmerling und Siegbert Rampe.
Nach dem Diplom 2003 mit Auszeichnung setzte er sein Studium an der Universität der Künste in Berlin bei Klaus Hellwig fort und schloss es im Februar 2010 mit dem Konzertexamen ab .
Ebenfalls 2010 beendete er dort erfolgreich sein weiteres Hauptfach, das Studium der Musiktheorie bei Prof. Dr. Hartmut Fladt.
