Zytostatika hemmen die Teilung und Vermehrung der Krebszellen und dadurch das Wachstum der Krebsgeschwulst. Bekämpft werden damit bösartige, rasch wachsende Zellen.
Die Anwendung erfolgt meist als Ergänzung / Folge einer Operation.
