Seit Oktober 1999 ist das Forum Vauban offiziell als Träger der Quartiersarbeit anerkannt.
Hierbei geht es vor allem um das Kennenlernen der Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner, die Unterstützung bei der Gründung von Nachbarschaftsinitiativen sowie das gemeinsame Engagement für soziale Einrichtungen und eine gute Infrastruktur (" Stadtteil der kurzen Wege ") .
