Neben vielen anderen Arbeiten seien die unter der Betreuung Schwanhäußers entstandenen Dissertationen über die Berechnung der planmäßigen Wartezeiten in Fahrstraßenknoten mit Hilfe eines GI / GI / 1-Wartemodells ( Wakob 1985 ), über die Grundlagen der asynchronen Simulation ( Schultze 1985 ) und über die Wartezeiten infolge von Überholungen zu nennen ( Gast 1987 ).

Some of the important works Schwanhäußer supervised was the calculation of the scheduled waiting time by means of the GI / GI / 1-queue ( Wakob 1985 ), fundamentals of asynchronous simulation ( Schultze ) and the calculation of waiting time from overtaking ( Gast 1987 ).
