Das Kloster Santo Domingo de Silos ist dank seiner Architektur und insbesondere wegen seiner beherbergten Skulpturen das Symbol der romanischen Kunst in Spanien.
Das prachtvolle Benediktinerkloster beherbergt noch heute das alte Nonnenkloster des Heiligen Francisco, ein Bauwerk aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, welches kürzlich in ein Gasthaus und ein Zentrum für Klosterstudien verwandelt wurde.
