in gewisser Hinsicht ist also Dvoráks Klavierkonzert ein Parallelfall zu Johannes Brahms´ 1. Klavierkonzert, das auch auf einem ursprünglich geplanten, dann verworfenen Konzept zu einer regelrechten Sinfonie basierte.
Beiden Komponisten wurde vorgeworfen, ihren Konzerten fehle die nötige virtuose Anziehungskraft, weshalb sie letztlich "undankbare" Aufgaben für die Solisten darstellten.
