www.uni-ulm.deKünstlerische Positionen, wie sie etwa Ad Reinhardt, Mark Rothko, Frank Stella, Morris Louis oder Kenneth Noland repräsentieren, flankieren dabei den großen Komplex der Op-Art und ZERO-Kunst, mit Arbeiten von François Morellet, Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani, Otto Piene, Heinz Mack und Günther Uecker.
Mit einem Werk von Robert Rauschenberg wurde ein weiterer Zweig in der Sammlung Weishaupt begründet :
die figurativ-expressive Kunst, die mit zahlreichen hochkarätigen Werken von US-amerikanischen Künstlern der Pop-Art, wie etwa Keith Haring, Andy Warhol und Tom Wesselmann, in der Sammlung repräsentiert ist;

A second collection focus was established with a work by Robert Rauschenberg:
figurative expressive art is represented in the Weishaupt Collection by numerous top-quality works by North American Pop artists, such as Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Tom Wesselmann, as well as by contemporary works by Robert Longo and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Fasziniert von der Rationalität des formalen Bildaufbaus bei Künstlern wie Josef Albers und Max Bill, die in den 1950er-Jahren an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm tätig waren, begann Weishaupt zunächst Werke der abstrakten Kunst zu sammeln.
