Nach dem Tod Johann Christians erhielt Johann Seyfried als Universalerbe die Einkünfte aus den böhmischen Ländereien, wodurch sich seine finanzielle Lage wieder entspannte.
Johann Seyfried starb im Dezember 1713 im Alter von 69 Jahren in Schloss Waldstein nördlich von Graz.
