Die relativ geringe Wahlbeteiligung - genauso hoch wie 1999 im Europa der 15 (49%), aber mit chronischer Wahlenthaltung in den meisten neuen Mitgliedstaaten (26%) - unterstreicht, was viele von uns befürchtet haben:
dass viele Menschen nur schwer eine Einstellung zu der EU finden und die echten Vorteile, die sie ihnen in ihrem täglichen Leben bringt, nur schwer einschätzen können.
