Das BFS arbeitet eng mit der Stiftung FORS ( Swiss Foundation for Research in Social Sciences ), insbesondere mit deren Portal für die Mikrodaten der öffentlichen Statistik COMPASS ( Communication Portal for Accessing Social Statistics ) zusammen, um seine Daten den Sozialwissenschaften leichter zugänglich zu machen.
Die verfügbaren Mikrodatensätze und die dazugehörige Dokumentation sind in einem Katalog erfasst und können über das COMPASS Portal beim BFS bestellt werden.
