Das Leben an der Armutsgrenze ist nicht nur mit einer schlechten wirtschaftlichen Lage, sondern auch mit anderen Problemen wie ernährungsbedingten Krankheiten verbunden.
In diesem Bereich möchte das neue, durch die Europäische Kommission finanzierte Projekt CHANCE ( „ Preisgünstige Technologien und traditionelle Zutaten für die Produktion erschwinglicher, ernährungsphysiologisch korrekter Lebensmittel, die den Gesundheitszustand armutsgefährdeter Bevölkerungsgruppen verbessern ” ) etwas bewegen.
Wissenschaftler und Partner aus der Industrie entwickeln gemeinsam ansprechende und erschwingliche Lebensmittel, die dabei helfen sollen, von Armut bedrohte Menschen vor Ernährungsproblemen zu schützen.

Together, researchers and industry partners will develop appealing and affordable food products that can help to prevent nutritional problems in European population groups at risk of poverty.
