Die Oomyceten besitzen im Gegensatz zu allen übrigen Pilzen Zellwände aus Cellulose, ihre Zoosporen sind heterokont begeißelt, und ihr Thallus ähnelt dem mancher siphonalen Algen ( z.B. Vaucheria ).
Sind sie mit diesen verwandt?

Oomycetes contain - in contrast to all other fungi – cell walls out of cellulose, their zoospores have two heterokont flagellae, and their thallus resembles that of some siphonal algae ( Vaucheria, for example ).
