Zwei Teilprojekte des TRR werden von Prof. Dr. Nico van der Vegt vom Institut Computergestützte Physikalische Chemie am Center of Smart Interfaces ( CSI ) koordiniert :
Im Teilprojekt „Dynamically Consistent Coarse-Grained Models“ entwickeln die CSI-Forscher bestimmte Näherungsverfahren (coarse-graining) von atomistischen molekularen Simulationen.
„Molekulare Simulation ist leider nicht so einfach wie Pool“, sagt Nico van der Vegt.

Während des 404ten Umlaufs wurde die erste Aufnahme des Sternenfelds mit dem wissenschaftlichen Instrument (Teleskop) durchgeführt.
