www.giz.deDr. Ralph Bodle, Ecologic Legal unterstützen die deutsche Delegation und das Verhandlungsteam der EU vor allem zu den Verhandlungen über das Protokoll zum “ Gerechtem Vorteilsausgleich bei der Nutzung genetischer Ressourcen ( ABS ) ”.
Timo Kaphengst, Koordinator für Biodiversität und Wald des Ecologic Instituts, nahm an verschiedenen Treffen zu zukünftigen Ansätzen zur Erhaltung der Biodiversität teil, z.B. zum Ökosystem-Ansatz bei der Klimaanpassung, den politischen Implikationen des TEEB-Berichts und zur Weiterentwicklung des REDD Systems ( Reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation ).

Timo Kaphengst, coordinator of biodiversity and forest at Ecologic Institute, took part in different meetings about future approaches to conserve biodiversity, e.g. the ecosystem approach of adaptation, policy implications of the TEEB report, and further development of the REDD scheme ( Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation ).

So wird beispielsweise das Potenzial von Instrumenten zur Minderung von Emissionen aus Entwaldung und Walddegradierung (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, REDD) bislang kaum genutzt.
Ziel In der ASEAN-Region werden regionale Politiken und Strategien zu Ernährungssicherung und Klimaschutz in Land- und Forstwirtschaft zunehmend in den Mitgliedsstaaten umgesetzt.
www.giz.deHowever, adequate capacities, resources, know-how and policies have yet to be developed in order to translate such regional agreements into clear action in the individual countries.
For example, hardly any efforts are yet being made to exploit the potential benefits of existing instruments for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD).
Objective Regionally coordinated policies and strategies to promote food security and climate change mitigation through agriculture and forestry are being implemented more effectively within the ASEAN Member States.
