Das Europäische Romanik Zentrum ( ERZ ) ist ein interdisziplinäres und interkonfessionell orientiertes Institut.
Es stützt seine Aktivitäten auf die Kompetenz zahlreicher Forscher der Martin-Luther-Universität sowie auf die breite Denkmallage mittelalterlicher Bauwerke im Bundesland Sachsen-Anhalt, verkörpert durch die weithin bekannte Straße der Romanik.

The European Romanesque Center ( ERZ ) is an interdisciplinary and interfaith organization.
Its activities are rooted in the expertise of numerous scholars at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg as well as in the numerous monuments of medieval art and architecture that can be found throughout the state of Sachsen-Anhalt, which are connected by the well-known Romanesque Road ( Straße der Romanik ).

Als interkonfessioneller Gebetsraum ist dieser ein religiöser Ruhepol für alle Nationalitäten und steht für Toleranz und Völkerverständigung.
Er symbolisiert den Grundsatz der Religionsfreiheit als elementares Freiheitsrecht unseres Grundgesetzes.
