Beschreibung :
Ziel dieses Projekts ist es, die aktivitätsbedingte strukturelle Plastizität der synaptischen Kontakte im kortikal-hippokampalen Schaltkreis mittels in vivo Zweiphotonen-Mikroskopie bei Angstzuständen zu untersuchen.
Anhand von Verhaltensanalysen bei konditional induzierbaren Mausmutanten möchten wir den spezifischen Beitrag der Semaphorin-PlexinB-RhoGTPas... zur Akquisition, Konsolidierung und Extinktion von kontextabhängigen Angsterinnerungen ausarbeiten und somit potenzielle kausale Verbindungen zwischen struktureller Plastizität und Angstgedächtnis aufklären.

Molecular mechanisms underlying activity-dependent structural plasticity of synaptic spines during the establishment of fear memories are not well understood.
Using forebrain-specific, inducible mouse mutants, two-photon in vivo imaging and behavioral memory tasks, this project proposes to address structural plasticity in cortical and hippocampal circuits and study the contribution of the Semaphorin-PlexinB-RhoGTPase pathway towards the acquisition, consolidation and extinction of contextual fear memory.
