Music The stage set by Morphine Records continues in the evening hosting a new cast, albeit with a noticeable shift in the direction of dance floor.
In the past couple of years the Berlin-based British producer TJ Hertz has pricked the world’s attention with a few 12”ers by his project Objekt.

Music Falsch wäre es nun sicher nicht Morphine Records als ein Label der Stunde zu bezeichnen – es wäre bloß ein wenig kurzsichtig und zu knapp gegriffen.
Das mittlerweile in Berlin stationierte Label ist bereits seit 2005 aktiv und darf in seiner ästhetisch strengen Ausrichtung zwischen Techno, digitalem Noise, den Nachwehen von Industrial und kaltem Minimalismus sicherlich auch als eine Blaupause für aktuelle heiß gehandelte Grenzgänger wie PAN Records oder L.I.E.S. gelten.

MusicIt definitely wouldn’t be wrong to call Morphine Records the label of the hour – but it would be a bit short-sighted and fall short.
Now stationed in Berlin, the label has already been active since 2005 and, with its strict aesthetic orientation between techno, digital noise, and the after pains of industrial and cold minimalism, can also surely also be seen as a blueprint for currently hot dealt border-pushers like PAN Records or L.I.E.S.
www.donaufestival.atDer ursprünglich aus dem Libanon stammende Labelkopf Rabih Beaini a.k.a. Morphosis hat bloß die Geschäfte ein wenig ruhiger angehen lassen oder Morphine zwischenzeitlich auch schon mal auf ein kleines Nickerchen geschickt.
Vor rund zwei Jahren hat Morphine Records wieder volle Fahrt aufgenommen, 2013 hat sich das Label mit einer Handvoll Releases dann endgültig aufgeschwungen, so etwas wie ein Label des Jahres zu werden.
