In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kognitionsphilosophen Thomas Metzinger, Mainz, sollen die verschiedenen „ Out of Body Experience “ ( OB ) Phänomene untersucht werden.
Diese lassen sich einerseits neurophysiologisch weitgehend deuten, doch berühren sie fundamentale Fragen der Rolle des Selbst.
Es ist vorgesehen, bei gesunden und psychiatrischen Probanden ( zum Teil mit spontanen OB-Erfahrungen ) solche Empfindungen durch Stimulation bestimmter Areale des Cortex zu erzeugen.
