Neben seinen Aufgaben als Dozent widmet er sich dort derzeit einem Forschungsprojekt, das die Rolle der Improvisation im kreativen Schaffen und im Werk Beethovens untersucht.
Aspaas beendete sein Studium an der Academy 1996 mit dem » postgraduate soloist ’ s diploma «, im Jahr darauf gab er ein von der Presse hoch gelobtes Debütrecital in Oslo.
Er erhielt zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen ( in letzter Zeit unter anderem den Lindeman-Preis, den Levin-Preis und den Nils Larsen-Preis ) und trat als Solist mit zahlreichen internationalen sowie mit sämtlichen professionellen norwegischen Orchestern auf.
www.beethovenfest.deIn 2006 he was appointed university professor – one of the youngest in the country at the time – at the Norwegian Academy of Music where, in addition to his teaching duties, he is currently doing a research project looking into the role of improvisation in the creative processes and works of Beethoven.
Aspaas gained his postgraduate soloist ’ s diploma at the Academy in 1996 and gave a critically acclaimed debut recital in Oslo the following year.
He has received numerous grants and awards ( among the more recent are the Lindeman-prize, the Levin-prize, and the Nils Larsen Grant ) and has appeared as a soloist with several international orchestras, as well as with all of Norway ’ s professional orchestras.

Der Erfolg der Symphonie ist nicht so viel von der Fähigkeit des Djembe-Soloist abhängig, wie er von harmonischen Interaktion zwischen den Trommeln auf verschiedenen Niveaus ist:
