Zudem erstellte Hamilton eine Liste von Schlagwörtern – wie populär, massenproduziert, verbrauchbar, billig, witzig, sexy, spielerisch, auffallend, verführerisch –, die ihm als charkateristische Phänomene der Alltagswelt galten und den Zeitgeist treffend beschrieben.
Diese Eigenschaften, waren für ihn sowohl als künstlerischer Untersuchungsgegenstand als auch als Maßstab für sein eigenes künstlerisches Schaffen von hohem Interesse.
