Das Insolvenzrecht ist eine komplexe Materie, die früher in verschiedenen Einzelgesetzen ( Konkursordnung, Vergleichsordnung und Gesamtvollstreckungsordnung ) geregelt war.
Erst die Insolvenzordnung hat eine einheitliche, für den gesamten Geltungsbereicht des Gesetzes gültige Kodifikation des Insolvenzrechts geschaffen.
