“An empty stadium exudes a unique fascination”, thinks Gert Kähler, a curator of the exhibition Choreography of the Masses (Choreographie der Massen) at the Berlin Academy of Arts.
It focuses on the historical development of soccer and the interaction between stadium architecture and the mass character – from the Olympic Games of 1936 to the internet age.

„Ein leeres Stadion strahlt eine ganz eigene Faszination aus“, findet auch Gert Kähler, einer der Kuratoren der Ausstellung Choreographie der Massen in der Berliner Akademie der Künste.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Entwicklungsgeschichte des Fußballs sowie die Wechselwirkung zwischen Stadionarchitektur und Massencharakter – von den Olympischen Spielen 1936 bis ins Internet-Zeitalter.
