The ICx will be the backbone of our long-distance transport fleet in the future.
The existing Intercity and Eurocity fleets will be replaced by up to 300 new longdistance trains.
These will begin running in 2016, gradually replacing the old fleet.

Because the electrification of the railway line through the Allgäu between Lindau and Munich is progressing rather slowly, SBB and DB AG are planning to offer Bus services between Zurich and Munich in addition to the Eurocity trains.
