In 1950 he joined Siemens as a development engineer.

A few years later, in 1900, the Polytechnikum Stuttgart became a technical college.
Carl von Bach was the first professor who introduced practical exercises with machines in addition to the lectures in technical subjects.

Wenige Jahre später, im Jahr 1890, wurde das Polytechnikum Stuttgart zur Technischen Hochschule.
Carl von Bach war selbst der erste Professor, der innerhalb technischer Ausbildungsfächer neben den üblichen Vorlesungen, zusätzliche praktische Tätigkeiten an Maschinen einführte.
